Many souvenirs are cheap and tacky or you get home and there’s no place for them. They can also be lovely but big and difficult to carry around on your trip until you get home. So I think we can all agree the ideal souvenir is small, lightweight, meaningful, unique, and has a purpose. This is why I feel strongly that I have decided to collect the perfect souvenir….
CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENTS
This may be niche as not everyone celebrates or loves it as much as I do, but I know I am not alone! Many people put up a Christmas tree every year and you need to buy ornaments for it anyway so you might as well buy them on your travels! They are small, affordable, and useful, and every year when you decorate your tree you get to take a moment to remember your trip and spark some extra joy. The only downside is you may not be able to find them in every country or at all times of the year but if you get creative you can turn keychains, bookmarks, and bells into ornaments by adding string! They also make a great gift to bring back for the special people in your life or you can give it to them as a Christmas present if you’re out of ideas.
